A dispensing optician is celebrating 40 years of service at Varnals Opticians in Newquay.
Owned by Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care, 56-year-old Deborah McLean joined the practice at the age of 16. She went on to qualify as a dispensing optician in 1982 and a contact lens optician in 2004.
To mark the milestone, Ms McLean was presented with flowers and has been gifted a Yamaha digital piano.
Speaking about her role, Ms McLean said: “I enjoy helping people and I work with a great team who feel like a family. I have built up good relationships with customers over the years and am now seeing their children and grandchildren.”
Scrivens area manager, Victoria Forster, said: “Deborah is an integral part of the team at Newquay. She is popular with her colleagues and deserves many congratulations as 40 years' service is a great achievement.”
