Karyn Slatter retires from Edmonds and Slatter

Karyn Slatter

Dispensing optician Karyn Slatter has retired after more than 30 years at Edmonds & Slatter Opticians.

Ms Slatter established the independent practice in partnership with optometrist John Edmonds, with the pair opening the first practice 1986.

Over the years Ms Slatter has dispensed and fitted thousands of pairs for spectacles for patients at the Leicestershire-based group.

Reflecting on her career, Ms Slatter said that she is thankful for being able to meet so many lovely patients and it’s the element of work that she will miss the most.

Dispensing optician and partner at Edmonds & Slatter, Tim Cole, said: “Karyn’s drive and dedication have created a unique optical environment and a fantastic team, she will be hugely missed by us all. We’d like to wish her all the very best for the future, and a very well-deserved long, healthy and happy retirement.”

Following Mr Edwards retiring in 2006, Mr Cole and optometrist, Saagar Hirani, became partners and continue to run the group of three practices.
