Optom receives BCLA accolade
Laura Reece named Young UK Contact Lens Practitioner of the Year
20 June 2017
A young optometrist from independent practice BBR Optometry has been named the recipient of the British Contact Lens Association’s (BCLA) Young UK Contact Lens Practitioner of the Year award.
Laura Reece received the accolade during the Association’s clinical conference and exhibition at Liverpool’s ACC earlier this month.
Speaking about the award, she said: “I feel humbled to have won this accolade but very pleased as well because I care passionately about contact lenses and the difference they can make to the lives of so many of our patients.”
Reflecting on Ms Reece’s achievements, BBR chairman, Nick Rumney said: “This award is so deserved for Laura who works tirelessly to offer the best contact lens care possible for all of our patients who are benefiting from her growing expertise and showcases her commitment, dedication, education and training.”
Ms Reece joined BBR Optometry in 2015 after graduating with a Masters of Optometry from the University of Manchester and has since completed Alcon’s Scholarship programme.
