Students from the University of Ulster rose victorious to be named the winners of Opfest 2015.

Hosted across two-days by Aston University, the annual, cross-university sporting competition was attended by representatives from each of the nine optometry schools across the UK.

Ulster’s win sees the optometry students secure the coveted Optics Cup from the University of Bradford. It is the first time they have won since the event was re-established by Cardiff optometry undergraduates in 2010.

Sponsored by Specsavers, students competed in a variety of sporting events throughout the tournament, including football, tag rugby, netball and volleyball. After the ‘sports day,’ team players celebrated with an around the world-themed dinner, before the winner was revealed.
