Optometrist and partner at Wiltshire optical group Haine & Smith, Keith Bottomley (pictured left), is to retire after over 40 years in the profession.
A Cardiff University graduate who qualified as an optometrist in 1974, Mr Bottomley became a partner at Haine & Smith seven years later. Under his leadership, the business has expanded from eight practices to 19 across Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire.
On his last day, colleagues hosted a surprise party for Mr Bottomley, followed by a farewell dinner.
Commenting on Mr Bottomley’s retirement, senior partner, Barry Smith (pictured centre), said: “Keith has been a wonderful partner and friend over the past 34 years. He’ll be greatly missed by both his colleagues and his patients.”
