Locumotive partners with Vivid Optical

A locum recruitment app has partnered with optical recruitment consultancy, Vivid Optical.

Locumotive was founded by locum optometrist, Gautam Passi, in June 2020.

In January 2022, Passi confirmed that the company has partnered with Vivid Optical, which has more than a decade of recruitment experience.

“This partnership means Vivid Optical will support Locumotive’s clients to find the right opportunities whilst also providing great customer support,” he highlighted.

“With Vivid Optical’s large network, we can ensure all practices are getting the right locum for their business,” Passi added.

Explaining his motivation for founding Locumotive, Passi highlighted that he wanted to minimise the frustration associated with dealing with recruitment agencies.

“It is created by an optometrist for optometrists,” he shared.

He noted that in the past he would be “bombarded” with emails and phone calls for roles that were not relevant.

Passi found the agency recruitment process slow and time consuming.

“Speaking to practice owners, they struggled to find quality staff from agencies as there was no way of communicating with a locum before they arrived to understand their skills and experiences,” he said.

The Locumotive app allows both practice owners and locums to communicate with each other. It was nominated as Technology Supplier of the Year at the 2021 Optician awards.
