Alcon is providing eye care professionals with the tools to enhance their profile on social media and improve their digital marketing skills.
Through the company’s partnership programme, Alcon is working directly with practitioners and providing extra support in the running of their day-to-day business.
Trade marketing manager at Alcon, Barbara Bochenska, told OT that research was carried out to better understand what areas independent practitioners need support with.
“Two things that came to us were digital marketing and social media,” Ms Bochenska said, explaining: “They don’t fully understand it, or if they do, they don’t have the time and the resources to advertise on social media.”
Education has been provided at Alcon’s recent roadshows and there are digital assets available that can be used online, including pre-created social media posts that can be tailored to each practice.
