Roadshows to liberate the independent spirit

Sight Care announces autumn business events

Sight Care has announced that its autumn business roadshows will begin on 5 October at the Thorpe Park Hotel in Leeds. Nine additional meetings will take place at regional locations around the UK, finishing in Bristol on 22 October.

This year’s theme is Liberating the independent spirit and will review the challenges for independents in a recovering economy “where renewed consumer confidence means a return to greater retail spending in all sectors, including optics.”

Sight Care has warned that renewed growth does not guarantee every practice will see the benefit and that demand will need to be stimulated locally.

The programme for the evening roadshows will discuss existing marketing methods and customer care initiatives, introducing new ideas and fresh thinking to add impetus to independent businesses competing in a changing economic landscape.

The meetings from 6pm are free to attend on a first come basis and are open to all Sight Care members and independent non-member practices. The speakers are Sight Care’s chief executive, Paul Surridge (pictured), and deputy chairman and practice owner Garry Hasse, who will explain the value of a structured and innovative, but affordable, approach to marketing an independent practice.

Mr Surridge said: “Teamwork is at the heart of a successful practice and the meetings are designed to appeal to every member of the practice, so we encourage practices to come along as a team.”

A priority registration form is available on the Sight Care website. For more information, telephone 01256 783336.
