The education programme at 100% Optical 2020, which is designed and delivered by the AOP, is now open for bookings.
Further lectures, workshops and peer discussions will be made available in the lead up the show, with over 130 seminar topics confirmed for the event, which takes place at ExCeL on 25–27 January 2020.
The AOP’s head of education, Dr Ian Beasley, said: “The AOP-led education for 2020 has an emphasis on bringing practitioners together by delivering an extensive range of peer discussions and skills workshops covering key clinical topics.”
“The programme will also host high profile speakers on the Main Stage with a 2020 keynote on each of the three days. A series of professional development sessions aimed for the wider practice team ensures there is something for everyone at the event,” he added.
Topics include patient examination and management of conditions such as myopia, glaucoma and dry eye, as well as a forum discussion on how the practice team should use social media.
Speaker highlights include the AOP’s clinical director, Dr Peter Hampson, who will lead a seminar on the General Optical Council’s new business standards.
Professor of clinical vision sciences at the school of optometry and vision sciences at Cardiff University, Professor John Wild, will present case illustrations in relation to primary open angle glaucoma and explore available techniques for the detection of visual field loss.

Thank you for your feedback Halsysurf. AOP members have received priority booking over the last week, but I can confirmed that the AOP will release around 100 more sessions, including discussion workshops and peer discussions, over the coming weeks.

Seems a shame that the 100% Optical bookings opened today and that at 0900 all the AOP sessions were fully booked
