For optometrist and managing director of Cameron Optometry, Ian Cameron, the biggest reason to enter independent optometry is variety. Working alongside optometrist and clinical lead at the practice, Gillian Bruce, the duo believe that this variety means that no two days are the same. “It makes your day exciting,” she says.

A second reason to enter independent optometry is the ability to progress in your career and do additional qualifications, Mr Cameron shares before concluding that: “Variety, career progression and control” are the three reasons to enter independent optometry.
