We have an annual programme of events for members and non-members across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, that are designed to support them in all modes of practice and career stages. Our event opportunities range from exclusive event sponsorship to standard inserts in delegates’ packs and everything in between. Our events

There may be variations within each of our range of events below, but most deliver vital CET points to optometrists, dispensing opticians, IP and therapeutic optometrists and contact lens opticians.

100% Optical

Taking place in January, 100% Optical attracts over 9000 visitors from the UK and abroad, and through the AOP delivers the highest quality education across seven themed hubs.

AOP Awards

The event delivers an opportunity to recognise the outstanding achievements made by practitioners in the sector. It also delivers an opportunity for organisations to align their brands in support of the sector.

Peer discussion roadshows

Our peer discussion roadshows are delivered throughout the year across the UK to support optometrists and dispensing opticians access clinical discussion in peer-based scenarios.

Legal seminars

These seminars provide members with an opportunity to meet the AOP's clinical and legal experts and gain a unique insight into how best to manage the many different risks associated with optometric practice. They are designed to provide the support and guidance needed to help protect yourself, your practice and your patients.

Practice Team Conference

This one-day event is designed to bring together key members of the practice team with dedicated business-themed content for practice owners and managers, and an additional tailored stream offering clinical education for optical assistants. The programme also provides joint sessions to enable the team to benefit from shared learning.

Therapeutics and IP conference

Therapeutics London focuses on the specialist area of therapeutics, covering all competencies required for IP-qualified optometrists alongside specialist peer discussion. It will appeal to practitioners who are part way through their therapeutics qualification, are considering the IP route, or simply want to make better use of the existing core competencies.

National Optical Conference

We bring together over 220 representatives from the optical sector including all 75 Local Optical Committees to debate the current issues affecting the profession.

Hospital Optometrists Annual Conference

A dedicated event supporting hospital optometrists in developing and maintaining their clinical excellence in an NHS environment.

Locum Conference

This must-attend one-day conference will keep you up to date with the latest clinical content, help you stand out in an increasingly competitive environment and prepare you for the practicalities of working as a locum practitioner.
