Comment on Orthokeratology in the Sunday Telegraph

AOP Councillor Gordon Ilett comments on Orthokeratology in the Sunday Telegraph and Times. The article discusses clinical interventions for myopia in children, following a new Ulster University study which reported that orthokeratology can stop the progression of myopia. 

Gordon called for more testing of the lenses. “It is emerging technology and there is lots of anecdotal evidence about how brilliant it is, but really we need large population studies to prove efficacy,” he said. Commenting after the article was published, Gordon added: “Let's hope this will stimulate interest in the wider public and raise awareness of the importance of detecting and treating visual problems in children.”
