Optometry students from overseas are likely to require a work permit to undertake their pre-registration training.
From 29 February 2008 a new scheme for applying for work permits was introduced. Towards the end of 2008 this will include a points-based system.
The two .pdf files below provide an outline for students who will require work permits on how to go about applying. for more detailed information students should refer to the website of the Border and Immigration Agency.
