Supervision of trainees and unregistered staff

A 2009 finding of the Fitness to Practise Panel at the GOC, involving supervision, a dispensing optician, a student, and an unregistered member of staff have ramifications for practitioners across the UK in regard to the sale and supply of spectacles. The AOP has issued interim advice to clarify the practical requirements that students, supervisors and practice managers need to fulfil when entering into a supervisory relationship.
