General Optical Council

One of the main areas of the AOP’s work on behalf of members individually is assisting them in defending allegations against them which are investigated by the General Optical Council. The AOP’s legal team has a very good record in defending members before the GOC and preventing allegations going beyond the investigation stage to a full Fitness to Practise Committee hearing. And when the vast minority of claims do go to a full Fitness to Practise Committee hearing, the AOP’s legal team has a very good record in defending members.
