The Welsh Council consists of councillors elected as Councillors by Locality to represent constituencies within the national borders of Wales and all Councillors by Function who are resident (within the meaning of byelaw 22 of the Elections to Council Byelaws 2003) in a constituency by locality within the national borders of Wales.
The objects of the Welsh Council are those of the Association nationally as they apply to Wales and are listed in the Memorandum of Association of the Association of Optometrists. The Welsh Council reports to the board through the Public Affairs Committee.
