The following information is to help students find a pre-registration training place and to help optometrists who are seeking a pre-registration trainee.
The pdf doc. “Seeking pre-registration training form” is to be completed by a trainee looking for a placement. Once completed, this form should be returned to the AOP when the details will be added to the Excel spreadsheet ‘Students looking for pre-reg placements'.
The .pdf file “Students looking for pre-reg places” lists students looking for pre-registration training places, it gives their name, contact e-mail address, the date they wish to start their pre-registration training, the area in which they wish to do their training, and the university they attended. The spreadsheet can be sorted under any of these headings. Optometrists seeking pre-registration trainees should contact them via their e-mail addresses.
Students and supervisors are asked to inform the AOP (via email lindamarriott@aop.org.uk) when a student on the list has found a pre-registration training place so that we can remove their name from the list. Students names will automatically be removed at the end of the year (December) in which they have indicated they wish to start their pre-registration training.
NOTE. Students should not rely on this website listing alone to find pre-registration training places, it should be used as a back-up to the other ways of finding training places.
